Edgar Cayce The Sleeping Prophet

Many indigenous civilizations of the world hold a single cave or mountaintop sacred; the place where their ancestors took shelter during the last Great Flood - a now archeologically documented event, placed somewhere between 12,000 and 13,000 years ago. For the Inca, it's Machu Picchu; for the Aboriginal Australians it's Big Rock; for the Sioux, it's Wind Cave in the Black Hills of Montana - and several other Native American tribes have similar traditions as well.

The Cherokee believe that there have been three completed ages - the Age of the Mineral, or Rock; the Age of the Plant; and the Age of the Animal - and the Age of the Human Being is next, when mankind is supposed to develop fully, and unite as a people. The Sioux have four ages passed, so far: named Fire, Rock, Bow and Pipe, respectively - perhaps denoting advances in technology. Also similar to many world traditions, Native Americans believe that we are entering a new age as people on this planet.

The Hopi Nation originates from the Grand Canyon and what is now the Four Corners region of the American Southwest, primarily northeastern Arizona - and are considered the record keepers of Native Americans. According to Hopi legend, there have been three completed ages already, and we are now coming to the end of the fourth - each time, the world was nearly destroyed: first by fire, then by ice, and most recently by a great flood.

Perhaps the most famous of all Native American prophecies involves the Hopi Prophecy Rock (right) Which is said to have foretold the coming of the White Man, the First and Second World Wars - and a Third World War, which is supposed to be right around the corner. Hopi Visions etched out the exact symbols of a Nazi swastika and a Japanese Rising Sun, as "the sun rising in the west" - which are identified as the Axis Powers of World War II.

Hopi Indians believe that the Fifth World will emerge on the Day of Purification, "when the Blue Star Kachina makes its appearance in the heavens." The Blue Star Kachina is featured in several Hopi prophecies - and is their name for the star Sirius, the brightest star in our sky. Sirius features prominently in many ancient religions: most notably ancient Egypt, and the Dogon tribe of Africa: a still primitive people, who in ancient times not only knew that Sirius is a double star, but also knew that the Earth revolved around the Sun with 8 other planets (all in their proper order), that Jupiter has four main moons, and that Saturn has rings - although they say this was not always the case, a likelihood which modern scientists have only recently begun to consider.

Hopi Prophecy speaks of twin Kachinas - white and blue. The star Sirius is a Blue White Sub Giant with a White Dwarf companion star - the system is approximately 8 light years away. If these two stars were to merge, the resulting fireworks would likely be brighter than the moon - and this is not without precedent. On July 4, 1054 a "guest star" was recorded by Chinese and Japanese astronomers, suddenly appearing in the sky - a supernova, bright enough to be visible during the day, and read and write by at night. The phenomenon lasted over a year and a half, until it eventually faded to become what is now the Crab Nebula, in the constellation Taurus, over 6500 light years away.

The Hopi legends go on, echoing other Native American stories: to warn us of impending doom, "God will shake the world three times" - urging us to change our ways, and love our fellow man, lest the world be destroyed yet again. Modern interpretations identify the First World Shaking as including the First World War, along with the Industrial Era, automobiles, railroads, and telephone wires like "spiderwebs across the land." The Second World Shaking involves something called the Gourd of Ashes, referring to the detonation of nuclear bombs. The Third World Shaking is the final and most terrifying - very few are expected to survive: "whoever dropped the first Gourd of Ashes, will have one dropped on them" - if Gourd of Ashes is a nuclear bomb, that was the United States in 1945.

In addition to the appearance of Blue Star Kachina, some other signs of the Third World Shaking are: "trees will die," as in acid rain and deforestation, especially of the rainforest; "a house in the sky," the space stations Mir and the ISS (International Space Station) seem to fit; "cold places will become hot, hot places will become cold," as erratic weather patterns and global warming; "lands will sink into the ocean and rise out of the sea," earthquakes, rising water levels are expected.

If Global Warming continues unabated, low lying coastal cities like New Orleans and Miami will be the first to lose billions of dollars in prime real estate. Imagine a New York City that looks like Venice, Italy - a virtual certainty in only another 20 to 50 years, if the ozone layer remains unrepaired.

After this begins a new age of peace and enlightenment, when all of mankind treats each other like brothers. The Hopi Fifth Age, called the World of Illumination which seems to coincide with many New Age beliefs, as in the Age of Aquarius. For the far off future, there are two more Worlds after this: the Sixth Age, or World of Prophecy and Revelation; and the Seventh Age, the World of Completion.

Native Americans also have a strong tradition of origin among the stars - Sirius, Vega and The Pleiades being primary stars of origin.

what the world needs now is something all the greedy devious people will buy up by the caseload, that will turn them into nice reverant peaceful people ;o)
