"Enlightenment"

..... and in the lower realms
minions of civilizations too hostile for contact .......

tripped out space explorer, I thought you could fly
show me your face, I emplore you - look into my eyes
can ya keep the faith I've given you by thinkin twice
how d'ya like my universe, don'tcha think it's nice?

the faith that you seek is not within your reach
the paradise you fought to keep has long forgotten peace
any answers you may need are lyin there at your feet
you may crush them walkin in your sleep
~ but with that you only plant their seeds

been through hell in half the time
n still has stars in her eyes
she trusts cuz she has the magic
      ~ let her fly .......

spinning through infinity
ye struggle n ye try to see
the detriment of destiny
the fun of one philosophy
the ignorance of apathy
the emptiness of empathy
the arrogance of entropy
the islands of a subtle stream
n senses of impending doom
the silence in yer solitude
ye hide inside yer empty room
with promises all gone too soon
n burning now inside of you
is something left behind from youth
to find a long forgotten truth
they run n hide but not from you
to finish off yer fantasies
n all that you have tried to be
you exit with the ecstacy
n all the extremities of your dreams

~ Story ~

This tune was magically enhanced by a new or revisited approach to songwriting, lyrics first! Back in about 92 or so, I had this cool room in a total jammer house, n I was gettin back into it. The first words came out one day all at once n for no apparent reason, then weeks later the others emerged. This is so much a storyteller as far as the mindset theme n ongoing plotline goes, that it hasta be a centerpiece (or a plot twist, focal point, somethin). It's times like this that I realize that not only do the tunes often write themselves, if you let them, but they also kinda have ideas on how they wanna fit into albums n rock operas n trilogies, etc ....... =o]

After years of wandering with the acoustic n a skull fulla ideas, I was starting to put the first opera together ~ TIAHOT, The Incidence and Harmony of Time (pronounced TAY-yo). This tune tho, I think may go in the sequel to that ~ ITROAIU, In the Realm of All Infinite Unknowns (pronounced eh-TRAY-you). Along with the third story ~ BADOEM, Beyond a Destiny of Eternal Minds (pronounced ba-DAY-em) ~ the entire trilogy is called AWDTSAM, Another Waking Dream That Saved All Mankind (pronounced AWED-sum). But this is all very tentative n up in the air n a work in progress n still on the drawing board ....... ;oP

The first verse kinda goes along in my head now (in later years) with Skeeter, Wow! (chronologically, in TIAHOT). So maybe that tune is destined to be swallowed up into a medley thingy soon too ~ or, more likely, since the chronological situation seems many moons, maybe I'll just be all progressive like n repeat the verse ....... ;o)

See also the sci-fi rock opera n virtual album TIAHOT - The Incidence and Harmony of Time for further fantastical freakouts anon ....... ;oP
