Alpha Centauri Rigel Kentaurus |
Alpha Centauri is commonly known as the closest star to us,
but actually it's a trinary (multiple system of three).
The main star is very much like our own sun
but it also has two white dwarfs orbiting it.
No planets have yet been detected there,
but that new technology is still to primitive
for us to even infer them ~ if there are any.
This will probably be the first star system that
Humans colonize (if no one's already there, that is).

Sirius The Dog Star a Canis Major |
Sirius is the brightest star in our sky
outshined only by the planet Venus
Located just southeast of the giant, famous, favorite
constellation Orion ~ in Canis Major ~ it's also known
as the Dog Star. A faint companion star was discovered
in the mid 19th century and nicknamed The Pup ~ the white
dwarf has about a 50 year eliptical orbit. The primitive Dogon tribe
of Africa has held this knowledge sacred since ancient times: lending
further credence to the theory that Humans are not originally from this
region of space ~ but rather, are descendants of a space faring race
that became somehow stranded here long ago and eventually lost
most of their vast knowledge, wisdom and coolest technology.
The Sirians are said to be Spiritual Warriors
A humanoid yet cetacian-like species, as they are more
closely related to the whales and dophins than humans,
many people often feel a special empathy for the highly
intelligent, sefaring mammals; and tend to have an affinity
for the Dog Star itself, though perhaps not quite knowing why.
It is also believed that these people are and have been reincarnated
from the Sirian race and that our two species may have a common destiny.

Orion
The most recognized
constellation on Earth !
In outer space ~ the brighter stars
of this huge constellation are definitely
major navigation markers and are viewed
in almost the exact same formation that we
see, for many hundreds of light years around.
The Orions, are supposed to be a hostile species
(according to UFO watchers), influencing our planet's
governments and many power structures clandestinely.
But the stars in this constellation are so very far apart,
that if such a people exists ~ "their space is vast" ~
so, what could they possibly want with lil' ol' us ?
Orion's Belt is a configuration of three stars
(all a great distance from our star system)
that trace out a slight navigational curve
which points right to Sirius (to the east)
and to Aldebaran, a Tauri (in the west).
The timeless pyramids of Giza in Egypt
are aligned in the exact same configuration
as these stars as they appeared in the sky
way back in the Age of Leo ~ 10,500 BC.

Betelgeuse "Beetle Juice" a Orion |
The goofiest starname in the galaxy ~ well, almost !
The brightest star in the constellation Orion, BG is it's own red light district.
Its diameter is about as big around as the orbit of Jupiter (300 million miles).
If it has any planets, they have to contend with the five tiny stars orbitting,
and it would be quite a feat of nature that they are not yet swallowed up.
Sometimes pronounced "Beetle Juice" (by ordinary Earth people),
this massive Red Supergiant is second only to Antares
~ and often outshines even the planet Mars.

Rigel Orion |
Rigel is the brightest star in its own personal local neighborhood
which isn't too distant from ours by galactic standards, but it's far enough away to be just a star.
At over 900 light years away, it still manages to poke through the blue haze before twilight sets in.
If Rigel were as close to us as Sirius is, it would definitely be the brightest celestial object in the sky,
(except for the sun and maybe the moon when its fullest (but then again, it'd almost always be full then),
and easily ensure that very few nights on Earth would ever be completely dark ~ see, it's that bright a thing.
