I had this classical sounding scale exercise I made up spinnin in me head for months when Mike came up with a pretty cool riff that went with it kinda. I tried n tried to make everything flow n fit ~ but ultimately, it wrote itself in me subconscious while I slept on it for over a year ....... ;o)

It started out with justa sorta subliminal scale run I felt I had to express, n it built from there thru comfortable fingering, n things I thought I needed practice doin. At the time, I was workin on me family tree alot, n traced parta me lineage to Austria, kinda near where Mozart was originally from. This bein the especially musical side of me family, I was thrilled to exploit this coincidence in any conversation venturing near. Turns out, I am also the rightful Czar of all the Russias ....... =oP

Me guitarist at the time, Mike, and I, were roomies in this cool ass apartment in Athens. We were trading riffs one day n he came up with the first half of this real groovy progressive melodic run, that's the second half of the tune now. I immediately tried to put the two concepts together, as I had run out of ideas on where to go with mine. About two years later, they all came together by themselves one day while jammin, rehearsing for Mirror Future, n I am still half considering including this tune in that mega opus ~ along with about 5 others, for a total progressive concept thingy ....... ;oP

This tune goes right back to me roots as a musician n plunking riff songwriter ~ back when I was a huge Maiden n Randy Rhoades fan.
