Prove It All Night i've been workin real hard, trying to get my hands clean we'll drive that dusty road from monroe to angeline to buy you a gold ring and pretty dress of blue baby just one kiss will get these things for you a kiss to seal our fate tonight a kiss to prove it all night... girl there's nothing else that we can do and girl i'll prove it all night for you everybody's got a hunger, a hunger they can't resist there's so much that you want, you deserve much more than this but if dreams came true, oh, wouldn't that be nice but this ain't no dream we're living through tonight girl, you want it, you take it, you pay the price prove it all night... and call the bluff prove it all night... for your love baby, tie your hair back in a long white bow meet me in the field, behind the dynamo you hear the voices tellin you not to go they made their choices n they'll never know what it means to steal, to cheat, to lie what it's like to live n die to prove it all night...

Hungry Heart got a wife and kids in baltimore, jack i went out for a ride and i never went back like a river that don't know where it's flowin i took a wrong turn and i just kept goin everybody's got a hungry heart... lay down your money and ya play your part i met her in a kingstown bar we fell in love i knew it had to end we took what we had and we ripped it apart now here i am, down in kingstown again everybody needs a place to rest everybody wants to have a home don't make no difference what nobody says ain't nobody like to be alone

The River i come from down in the valley - where mister, when you're young they bring you up to do like your daddy done me and mary, we met in high school - when she was just seventeen we'd ride out of this valley down to where the fields were green we'd go down to the river n into the river we'd dive oh, down to the river we'd ride then i got mary pregnant - and man that was all she wrote and for my 19th birthday, i got a union card and a wedding coat we went down to the courthouse - and the judge put it all to rest no wedding day smiles no walk down the aisle - no flowers, no wedding dress that night we went down to the river and into the river we'd dive oh down to the river we did ride i got a job working construction for the johnstown company but lately there ain't been much work on account of the economy now all them things that seemed so important - well mister, they vanished right into the air now i just act like i don't remember - mary acts like she don't care but i remember us riding in my brother's car her body tan and wet down at the reservoir at night on them banks i'd lie awake and pull her close just to feel each breath she'd take now those memories come back to haunt me - they haunt me like a curse is a dream a lie if it don't come true, or is it something worse that sends me down to the river though i know the river is dry that sends me down to the river tonight down to the river, my baby and i oh, down to the river we ride
