Rayna and Scott met on August 8, 2010, at an open mic night
(at the Wichita Pub in Southeast Portland), and immediately
fell in love with each otherís music. Very soon, they started
jamming together, often at one of Portlandís many scenic parks
(weather permitting). Eventually, they started attending open mics together,
performing from an ever expanding repertoire of classic modern favorites and
ancient Celtic folk songs (with a few originals thrown in, of course).
They were married on August 8, 2015, exactly five years after they met,
and continue to appear occasionally at local parks and pubs (when their busy schedules allow it).
Rayna (vocals, guitar, fiddle) is also an accomplished pianist and
and brings a lifetime of experience in music. Plus, she has near perfect pitch, which includes the uncanny ability to play any song just from memory, with correct key and exact chords, even transposing to fit her range.
Scott (guitar, bass) is from Detroit originally, and has over 200 bluesy progressive-rock
going back as far as the early 80's, and has
the bass lines of over 300 classic rock tunes, note for note.
They continue to practice their diverse setlist, and work on new material (usually on the weekends). They may even soon make more
(if thereís time enough in their busy week). If they average one per week, itíll take them about a year Ė so watch this space!
